WE ARE DEEPLY TOUCHED BY YOUR SUPPORT
- THANK YOU TO EVERYONE MAKING OPERAKÄLLAREN FOUNDATION 2019 A SUCCESS
In September we once again gathered some of our supporters with the purpose of fundraising in support of WaterAid’s work in Ethiopia, providing people in some of the poorest communities in the country with clean water. During the breakfast seminar, golf tournament and gala dinner, we raised in total 4.6 million SEK, funds that now will make sure thousands of people get clean water and a better future. A big thank you to everyone who participated during the day!
The breakfast seminar
The day started off with a breakfast seminar at Operakällaren on the theme of water. Host of the seminar was the famous Swedish journalist Steffo Törnqvist who interviewed our prominent guests on stage.
Guests of the year was WaterAid’s ambassador and former Deputy Secretary General to the UN Jan Eliasson, CNN’s star correspondent Nima Elbagir, peace activist and nominee to the Nobel Peace Prize Victor Ochen from Uganda, Swedish performing artist Danny Saucedo, the founder of Operakällaren Foundation Abbe Ibrahim and WaterAid Sweden’s CEO Cecilia Chatterjee-Martinsen.
The golf tournament
After the breakfast seminar it was time for the traditional golf tournament, this year held at the beautiful Fågelbro Golf and Country Club on the island of Värmdö.
Winner of the golf tournament, a scramble of four, was team 17, with Marco Korva, Anton Frej, Erik Ingvarsson and Joakim Hoffman.
In the evening the annual gala dinner was held at Operakällaren in Stockholm. During the evening top class food was served, some of Sweden’s most prominent performance artists entertained, but most importantly money was raised in support of WaterAid’s work in Ethiopia improving people’s access to clean water.
The fundraiser was hosted by Steffo Törnqvist and Kristin Kaspersen who at the end of the night presented the result. In just one day, 4.6 million SEK was raised, money that Operakällaren Foundation and WaterAid now will transform to clean water in Ethiopia.
We wish to thank everyone who participated and donated during the day. With your help thousands of people will now get access to clean water for the first time.
